OUR BELIEFS
SCRIPTURE
We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God, it was written by men under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and is profitable for all things. (2 Timothy 3:16)
GOD
There is one and only one living and true God, yet he manifests Himself in three persons. The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. (1 John 5:7-8 KJV)
GOD THE SON
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He was not a created being. He has always been. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus stepped out of heave to come to this earth. He lived a sinless life and willingly went to the cross, was crucified and suffered the wrath of God, so that we might be reconciled to God. He paid our sin debt, wiping away our guilt and offering us eternal forgiveness. (John 1:1-4; Isaiah 53:7; 2 Cor. 5:20)
GOD THE SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He exalts Christ, convicts the world of sin, and also empowers the believer to life a life of holiness. (John 16:7-8)
GOD THE FATHER
God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe. (Matthew 3:16-17)
SALVATION
Salvation is the redemption of whole man, and it is offered to all who trust Christ as their Lord and Savior. It is understanding and believing that Jesus who knew no sin, became sin for us, so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Cor. 5:20)
MAN
Man was created by the special act of God, in His own image, and is the crowning work of His creation. God places man in a perfect, sinless world and intended for man to live forever in perfect fellowship with God. By his own free choice, man rebelled against God, and sin entered into the world. As a result, man became separated from God and can only be reconciled to Him by accepting the redemption offered in Jesus Christ.
THE CHURCH
We believe that the church is the local body of baptized believers. They meet together to be taught and strengthened in the Word of God, and have a common goal of sharing the message of Christ with the world. The New Testament also speaks of the church as the body of Christ, which includes the redeemed of all ages.
THE LORD’S SUPPER
The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience where believers come together to remember the death of Christ, and look forward to His return to the earth.
BAPTISM
Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water. It is the first step of obedience for a new believer. It symbolizes the person’s faith in the death, burial and resurrection and is also symbolic of their death to sin, burying of the old life, and their resurrection on to walk in the newness of life.
EVANGELISM
Every Christian is commanded to be a witness to the world. Jesus states this clearly, in what Christians call the Great Commission. Christians do not do this out of hate or arrogance, but out of love, because it is the Christians’ desire that none should perish, but all should come unto repentance.
LAST THINGS
In His own time, God will bring the world to its expected end. On this day Jesus Christ will return visibly, the dead of all ages will be raised and Christ will judge all men in righteousness. All men who rejected salvation offered in Christ will be forever separated from God in Hell, and all those who accepted the offer of salvation in Christ will be ushered into an eternity of rest and will dwell forever with the Lord.
FAMILY
God designed the family even before the church. When God created the world He created man and woman and commanded them to be fruitful and multiply, thus the family was created. A biblical family is one man and one woman, who has taken an oath before God, to God, and to each other to be faithful and true to one another all the days of their life. The family is also symbolic of the relationship of Christ to His Church.
